Peer Review

STEMedicine follows a double-anonymous (double-blind) peer-review process to ensure fairness, objectivity, and the highest standards of scholarly publishing. In this model, the identities of both authors and reviewers remain anonymous throughout the review process.

Initial Editorial Assessment

Upon submission, each manuscript undergoes an initial evaluation by the Editorial Office to determine whether it falls within the journal's scope and complies with the journal's editorial policies, ethical standards, and submission requirements. Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria may be returned to the authors before peer review.

Reviewer Assignment

Eligible manuscripts are assigned to at least two independent experts with relevant subject expertise. Reviewers are selected based on their academic qualifications, research experience, and absence of conflicts of interest.

Double-Anonymous Review

Authors must remove all identifying information from the manuscript before submission. Likewise, reviewer identities are kept confidential and are not disclosed to the authors. This process helps minimize potential bias related to author identity, institution, nationality, gender, or reputation.

Review Criteria

Reviewers evaluate manuscripts based on:

  • Originality and novelty

  • Scientific quality and methodological rigor

  • Clinical or academic significance

  • Ethical compliance

  • Clarity and organization

  • Accuracy of data analysis

  • Validity of conclusions

  • Quality of references and supporting literature

Editorial Decision

Based on the reviewers' reports, the Editor may reach one of the following decisions:

  • Accept

  • Minor Revision

  • Major Revision

  • Reject

The Editor-in-Chief makes the final publication decision after considering the reviewers' recommendations and the scientific merit of the manuscript.

Revision Process

Authors receiving revision requests should submit a revised manuscript together with a detailed point-by-point response explaining how each reviewer comment has been addressed. Revised manuscripts may be returned to the original reviewers for further evaluation when necessary.

Confidentiality

All manuscripts submitted to STEMedicine are treated as confidential documents. Editors and reviewers must not disclose, distribute, or use unpublished information contained in submitted manuscripts for personal or professional advantage.

Conflict of Interest

Editors and reviewers must disclose any actual or potential conflicts of interest. Individuals with conflicts that could affect the impartiality of the review will not participate in the evaluation of the manuscript.

Peer Review Integrity

The journal is committed to maintaining a transparent, fair, timely, and ethical peer-review process in accordance with internationally recognized publishing standards and the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
