Article Processing Charges

STEMedicine is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal. To support editorial management, peer review, production, online publication, website maintenance, digital preservation, and long-term accessibility, an Article Processing Charge (APC) is payable only after a manuscript has been accepted for publication.

APC

  • Article Processing Charge (APC): USD 1200 per accepted manuscript

  • Submission Fee: None

  • Peer Review Fee: None

  • Editorial Evaluation Fee: None

  • Processing Fee Before Acceptance: None

Authors are not charged for manuscript submission or peer review. Payment is requested only after the manuscript has successfully completed peer review and has been formally accepted by the Editor.

Payment of the APC does not influence editorial decisions. Acceptance is based solely on the manuscript's scientific quality, originality, ethical compliance, and relevance to the journal's scope.

APC Covers

The APC supports:

  • Editorial management

  • Double-anonymous peer review administration

  • Professional copyediting and language checks (where applicable)

  • Typesetting and article production

  • DOI registration

  • Online publication

  • Website hosting and maintenance

  • Long-term digital preservation

  • Metadata preparation and indexing support

  • Open-access dissemination

Waiver Policy

STEMedicine is committed to promoting equitable access to scientific publishing. Authors who are unable to pay the APC may request a full or partial waiver.

Waiver requests are considered on a case-by-case basis and may be granted for:

  • Authors from low-income countries or lower-middle-income countries (based on internationally recognized classifications)

  • Early-career researchers with demonstrated financial need

  • Authors facing exceptional financial hardship

  • Invited articles commissioned by the Editorial Board

  • Other cases approved by the Editor-in-Chief or Publisher

Waiver requests should be submitted at the time of manuscript submission or before acceptance. Approval or rejection of a waiver request is independent of the peer-review process and has no influence on editorial decisions.

Transparency

The journal applies the same editorial and peer-review standards to all manuscripts, regardless of whether an APC is paid, waived, or discounted. Editors and reviewers are not informed of an author's APC or waiver status during the review process.

Refund Policy

The APC is generally non-refundable once an article has entered the production process following acceptance.

Refunds may only be considered in exceptional circumstances, such as duplicate payments or billing errors, at the discretion of the Publisher.
