Long-term clinical outcomes and prognostic factors associated with minimally invasive surgical treatment of patients with degenerative lumbar spinal stenosis

Background: Degenerative lumbar spinal stenosis is a common cause of pain and functional disability in older adults. Minimally invasive surgical techniques have increasingly been adopted to reduce perioperative morbidity.Methods: Patients undergoing minimally invasive decompression for lumbar spinal stenosis were followed clinically. Pain severity, functional scores, postoperative complications, and patient-related prognostic factors were evaluated.Results: Most patients demonstrated sustained improvement in pain and functional status during follow-up. Lower baseline functional impairment and absence of major postoperative complications were associated with better outcomes.Conclusion: Minimally invasive decompression provides sustained clinical improvement in appropriately selected patients with degenerative lumbar spinal stenosis.
