Abstract

Background: MicroRNAs are important regulators of stem cell differentiation and tissue regeneration. This study investigated the role of miR-29b in the osteogenic differentiation of mesenchymal stem cells. Methods: Mesenchymal stem cells were cultured under osteogenic conditions following miR-29b modulation. Alkaline phosphatase activity, mineral deposition, and osteogenic marker expression were evaluated. Results: Increased miR-29b expression enhanced alkaline phosphatase activity, mineralization, and expression of RUNX2 and osteocalcin. Conclusion: miR-29b may promote osteogenic differentiation and could have potential applications in bone tissue regeneration.
